Sick Puppy

Well this week I took Boo to get his yearly shots, man was he so much better than Astro when I take him. Astro tends to get the nervous poops..LOL It's like he is so excited to be going bye-bye, and walking up to the vet, hes got that twinkle in his eye, but the minute I pick him up and step in the Vet office... man he starts shaking. And then putting him up on the exam table, he's like "momma don't let them stick me!" lol And every once and a while he shoots out a turd. This is bad, but its pretty funny. ha!
So anyhow... Boo was so calm. They clipped his toenails and gave him his shots. Now don't get me wrong, he does NOT like the nails clipped, but dang they were super long. Every time he would scratch his ears his nail would get stuck in his hair and then he would whine because he couldn't get it unstuck. There was a good 4 inches of hair on them, but his ears are tiny, that of a true Yorkie. Needless to say I shaved them, like I do Astro's. I know he feels better. I just don't think his other momma knew how to properly take care for him. Even the Vet said some people think these small dogs are like dolls. The smaller the less care for them. When in reality they are the ones that need the most upkeep, and care. It makes me mad, but yet sad.
Well continuing with the Vet...we get home and he is totally fine. Running around, chasing, & barking at other dogs. Me and Mike took the dogs on a long walk cause it was so pretty outside that day, for once! Well at about midnight that night as I was shuttin down house, I noticed Booboule was limping on that back leg where he got his Rabies shot. Im thinking.. ok shots can make u sore, no biggie. Well.. 4 days later.. he is stilllllllll hopping along. He's about mastered it. Lol. I'm having to pick him up.. take him down the stairs.. and make him walk a lil or hop rather, to pee and whatnot. I think he's being a lil wuss though. Wednesday (day after shots) I ran into town for an hr, and came back and he had literally poo'd on himself in the kennel. I'm talkin the runny stuff. I about gagged when I took the blankets out & I never gag at that kind of thing. Anywhos. the more n more I get to thinking about all this.. symptoms, actions, etc. Im like crap.. Parvo. If you don't know what Parvo is...GOOGLE IT! lol Its a bad deal. Dogs get vaccinated for it when they are pups, and vets recommend it yearly. Its an intestinal disease. So I think,... he feels underweight, poor diet habits, don't like treats, only has one BM a day, tons of red flags. Well.. his shot records say that hes had shots for it ever since he was born. So that X's out Parvo. Thank God! I ask the Vet.. she said he is a perfect weight--6.3 lbs-- (hes just going to be a small framed dog), & that it is normal for dogs to be a lil under-the-weather after shots. (although Astro never is) Well.... after hopping around for 4 days, with the poops and pukes, he has finally purked up today! YAY! I had a big scare though.. Parvo is a viral disease and is usually deadly. I was just starting to love this lil guy, and now I'm gonna have to put him down..... thank goodness he was just being a wuss. So with a month under his belt, in my house, he is doing swell. Him and Astro are 2 peas in a pod!
This weekend is going to be crunch time for me and Mike. Ive got to book and plan out all of my excursions for May 8-22. Laurel Sturgeon is coming to visit! Yay! And its crazy because I haven't seen her since like 11th grade. Almost 10 yrs.. dang I'm gettting old. We are going to get to go to Ireland, which Im totally stoked about! We should have a blast.
April has flown by for me. Its like Laurel comes & goes, then only 9 more days in May... hopefully Holly will have her babies by then (twin boys#4 & #5 for her).. which on a side note I am excited about.. Im going to be pretty much her only help & I get to be in the L&D room with her--kind of scared about that part lol-- then June will fly by for us I think.. and before we know it.. we will be on a plane in July headed back to the states! HOORAY! I will miss this place though... ok the country.. not this specific place. We live in the most isolated part of Germany. There are more deer in this region than humans. LOL
So that is our latest. Everyone should give Mike a pat on the back because he ran a 12 mile run this morning up and down the hills of the Rheinland-Pfalz region. GO HIM! I can barely make it a dang mile... x 12.. wowzers. haha
Hope everyone has a good week... and did you notice how sweet Astro finally is with Booboule.. sharing his bed with him and spooning. LOL ~Ciao, L

Clearing Things Up

For those of you that give a flying hoot about me and Laura, I'm going to clear all this up one last time. I am a Chemical, Nuclear warfare specialist in the Army. Yes I do play with nerve gas for fun. It is my job. I also make other Soldiers suffer with me by training them to withstand such gases. I help teach Soldiers how to survive in a Chemical or Nuclear attack environment. But I also jump out of airplanes too. How is that for CRAZY Eugster? I will get paid extra for that, again, once I arrive in NC. I do enjoy my job and I love my wifey. My wife is a great house wife only because the German army way of life will not allow her to teach here. So to clear things up I am doing the same thing as I have done the past 3 yrs, for all that i have met since then. Also, Laura does not work for the Army, she is an Army wife, which is the hardest job in the military. She does have ambitions to teach soon, but Germans are mini-Hitlers in training. (quote::Laura) Overall we both cannot wait to be back in America and catch up with our friends and family and spend time with ALL of you, and we do mean ALL of you. -Mike

Back to the REAL Army

Well most of you already know that Laura, Astro, Booboule, and I will be moving to Fort Bragg. For Laura and the doggies this will be a brand new experience for them, being stationed at an Army base in the states and a huge base at that. For me, I will be happy in my career once again being able to jump out of perfectly good planes and working with elite Airborne Soldiers again. Also, I will be in a chemical warfare unit, which means I can actually do and learn about my job as a chemical super freak in the Army. We are all anxious to get back to Texas for a little bit and see everyone. Laura and the puppies will be in Texas for 3 months, I will be there for a month, then I will be off to advance chemical super freak school in Missouri. Well take care everyone, bye. -Mike

The Buffet Line

Well I bought Astro and Booboule a new set of food dishes. And had to share with you.. the menu is as followed:: Iams ProActive Health, or Science Diet Lamb & Rice with a splash of water. Astro is so funny... he goes after a taste of BOTH! HaHa! The water thing still freaks Astro out too.. cause it kind of makes a few "blup-blup" sounds as you drink the water.. as it refills. He keeps approaching it with caution. Ive been trying to take some more pics of Boo. The poor baby... he is so sad still. Its like walking him is his only joy, or giving sugars to me. Its sad. He's such a sweet puppy. I'll keep the pictures coming as soon as I take them. I have no life.. what else do I have to do? Clean the house? No way! No fun. Laura likes fun. I also found out today that Boo's native language .. FRENCH obviously. Ugh.. it's pretty much the only language he knows all of his commands in. I took Spanish in HS, not French!?? Im learning though.. his baby momma has been trying to help me out.. with what each phrase means. So who out there took French?? And did you even learn anything.. gosh what was his name..Mr. Smith. Yes! So who can tell me ANYTHING... I dont know crap! HaHa! Anyhow...it's all of our bedtimes. I'm booking my plane tickets tomorrow... YIPEE!! -Laura
